Oakleaf lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. capitata) Romaine lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. longifolia) TSW: Sowing & planting: Plant density: Seed demand: Cultivation: 0,8-1,2 g, 1 g = 800-1200 seeds. Sowing for pre-cultivation from December to the beginning of August. Direct sowings from the beginning of March. Ideal germination temperature 10-15°C, above 20°C a germination depression is possible. 25 x 30 cm, for large types. For direct sowing 0,6-1 g/10 qm. Typically lettuce will be planted after a pre-cultivation in the greenhouse. With a too high nitrogen level in the soil the susceptibility to rottenness and internal tip burn will increase.
